Jack Ebeler is an independent consultant on health policy and the changing health care marketplace, focusing on Medicare and longer-term health care reform.
He was appointed in 2007 as a Commissioner on the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission (MedPAC), and serves on the health care services board of the Institute of Medicine and the boards of Inova Health System in Virginia and Families USA, as well as a number of advisory committees.
Prior experience includes positions as CEO of the Alliance of Community Health Plans, and senior vice president and director of the Health Care Group at the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. In 1995-96 he was deputy assistant secretary and then acting assistant secretary for planning in the federal Department of Health and Human Services. Previously he had positions on Capitol Hill, at CMS (then HCFA), and in the private sector.
Jack is married to Carolyn Ebeler, and they have two children and four grandchildren.
